19. Goose Bay / Rivers Inlet fishing

Another day in Goose Bay, and this time to try the acclaimed fishing of Rivers Inlet. Never having been there before we did some Googling earlier in Shearwater. Whilst lots of posts and forums spoke of 'the Wall', 'Sharbau' and others, no one actually described where the good spots were!

Then finally from the Black Gold Fishing Lodge web site there was this perfect map.

We headed out and had lines in the water near 'The Wall' at 8:00. Caught a nice Chinook and then headed back in (as one nice salmon is enough to feed us for days). We saw a whale right in close to Cow Island and drifted around watching it for a while - interested that it was so close to shore.

Required gloat photo - just another day at Rivers Inlet

After a great salmon BBQ we headed back to Duncanby to have a final drink on the Ravens Nest before our planned departure from Goose Bay.
