Another lazy start with anchor up at 12:15. The run up Fitz Hugh Sound is easy with 12 knots wind and 1 knot current against. We discover that the float switch in hull section #3 has been stuck and we have lots of water in #3 bilge, built up over some time (not enough to trigger the alarm though). A separate pump is brought into action and we empty all the water via the kitchen sink. Cleaning the float switch has it fixed properly. Those darned Rule float switches. Most of the time they are fine, but sometimes.....
Anchored 5:15 deep in the east corner of Codville Lagoon, north side of the little cove, with three other boats already there. Lots and lots of room.
We walk up to Sagar lake. The path has a boardwalk courtesy of the Parks Department. Thanks! Makes for a very nice walk through the forest. It was so dry that no concerns on mud but I expect for much of the year the boardwalk would be a very welcome thing.Another lazy start with anchor up at 12:15. And the man-eating horse flies? (or deer flies - choose your terminology). As the evening started they disappeared. We noticed this for the rest of the trip too, and it ultimately drove that we scheduled many of our outdoor activities into the evening versus the heat of the day.
Drinks on the aft deck closed out the evening. Amazing weather with it still 72 degrees (F) at 7:30 pm
